How did I pack?

It's about 14 hours until I am on a plane traveling to the other side of the world. I started packing this morning around 10am and didn't even finish until 8 hours later! I went through 3 mental breakdowns which says a lot for someone who travels often & is great at packing. I use to travel about 6 times a year to/from Oklahoma, in Chicago I've moved often and travelled a lot.

First, obviously knowing what bags to bring will help with what goes in which. Second, I made a packing list awhile back to help me organize everything and good thing I did! I put majority of my toiletries & delicates in the red carry on. In my backpack carry on that will be at my seat is all electronics, my purse, and comfy stuff for the ride. The checked bag is majority of my clothes and liquids (Which I completely forgot about once it was all packed).

My checked bag took lots of rearranging and removal till it was finalized. I pulled all the clothes I like, minimized to the important, packed, and then removed even more clothes. I think I did pretty well for 3 months abroad all while saving space for future purchases.

The overhead carry on is mostly for when I bring back a lot of stuff. For now it's holding all the extra delicates & bathroom items for while I'm in school.

As a photographer and filmmaker its important I carry my equipment with me in my carry on. I packed a couple of lenses, cards, mic, and hard drives. I also brought some minimal supplies for the first week of school. I have my international outlet but I have a feeling I am going to need another one. Unfortunately, I couldn't find my on-the-go charging pod. My head pillow is packed but not pictured.

The final to-do were my airport clothes! It's summertime so I kept my top light & comfy by picking an oversized t-shirt with a light jacket for the plane (they get so cold). Tennis shoes are for lots of walking & comfort in the airport. Yoga pants for the cold airplane and comfort as well.

After 8 hours of hard decision making hopefully this packing job will succeed in the 3 month journey. Oh yeah, it's 3 months now since I'm going back to Seoul after Tokyo! Trip gets longer and longer, haha!

Since I've been packing the reality of leaving is settling in & quite a scary new feeling. I hope it goes away tomorrow morning but who knows. A lot of my future plans are kind of wrapped up in this trip, so I am trying to stay relaxed.

Stay tuned ya'll.
